    我们在写论文的时候常常需要描述结果的变化趋势,今天通过分享一小段描写变化趋势的文字来和大家一起学习几种表达方式,下面我们开始吧。

如何表达试验结果的变化趋势?

   

上原文:

 The phenolic contents and iron chelating activity increased with lower methanol concentration and decreased with higher concentrations (100%). However, antioxidative property by DPPH radical scavenging assay showed decreased activity with increase in solvent concentration .Extraction time is an important parameter on which the yield of analytes depend, however longer extraction time leads to polyphenolic compounds degradations (Ghitescu et al. 2015). The Figure S1–S3 demonstrated that as the extraction time was shortened, it led to reduced polyphenols content along with,antioxidants and iron chelating activity of the extracts. However, for longer extraction time an increasing trend was observed. Initially, at lower ultrasound power there was no significant release of polyphenols, antioxidant and iron chelating activity, viceversa with the increase in ultrasound power, phenolic, antioxidant and iron chelating activity increased gradually as shown in Figure S1–S3. From, Figure S1, S2, it can be observed that with increase in solid–liquid ratio, there was decrease in TPC and antioxidants activity. However, Figure S3 showed a rising trend for the iron chelating activity with an increase in solid–liquid ratio.

3.Extraction time is an important parameter on which the yield of analytes depend, however longer extraction time leads to polyphenolic compounds degradations(Ghitescu et al. 2015). 

翻译:提取时间是决定分析物提取量的重要指标,然而提取时间过长会导致多酚类化合物分解

前半句用了状语从句,Extraction time is an important parameter on which the yield of analytes depend,这里on which 中的on 来自depend on ....这个固定搭配,是”依赖于“,”取决于“的意思,也就是the yield of analytes (被测物的提取量)取决于 Extraction time(提取时间),它是个什么呢?是is an important parameter一个重要的指标。

所以顺一下语序,就是”提取时间是决定分析物提取量的重要指标“

后半句中有一个固定搭配:lead to, 导致...因为是引用其他人的文章,所以这里用了一般现在时


The Figure S1–S3 demonstrated that as the extraction time was shortened, it led to reduced polyphenols content along with, antioxidants and iron chelating activity of the extracts. 


翻译:图S1-S3 说明,随着提取时间的减少,导致了提取物中多酚含量的减少和抗氧化、金属螯合能力的降低。

demonstrate,是”证明,说明“的意思,学术论文中很常见,同义词是illustrate,说明了什么呢?后面that 引出来,as ... 表示”随着...“随着extraction time was shortened,led to 就是上文的lead to 导致了什么呢?reduced polyphenols content,reduced V-ed作形容词,表示”减少的“减少的多酚含量,后面用了along with表示”连同...一起“,也就是说,不只是多酚含量减少了,减少的还有antioxidants and iron chelating activity,这样表达比我们用and 连接要好得多,值得吸收借鉴。


However, for longer extraction time an increasing trend was observed.


翻译:然而,延长提取时间会得到一个上升的趋势。


什么上升?就是上文中的这三个量 polyphenols content,antioxidants and iron chelating activity

Initially, at lower ultrasound power there was no significant release of polyphenols, antioxidant and iron chelating activity, vice versa with the increase in ultrasound power, phenolic, antioxidant and iron chelating activity increased gradually as shown in Figure S1–S3. 


翻译:一开始,在较低的超声功率下, 多酚释放率、抗氧化和金属螯合能力并不显著。反之,提高了超声功率后,多酚含量、抗氧化和金属螯合能力也随之逐渐上升,如图S1-S3所示。


这句话也是表示了随着上升而上升, 随着下降而下降的意思,但是他换了表达。用了at lower ultrasound power 在较低的...下,量低就用了no significant release of ...,vice versa的意思是”反之亦然“,也就是反过来也一样。

eg:Acids neutralize alkalis and vice versa.酸能中和碱,反之亦然。

只是phenolic这里我个人感觉应该用polyphenols content,因为上一句说的释放量(release of polyphenols),就是含量相关的,这里用形容词phenolic 的话需要和后面的activity 连接,意思是多酚的活性。


From, Figure S1,S2, it can be observed that with increase in solid–liquid ratio, there was decrease in TPC and antioxidants activity. However, Figure S3 showed a rising trend for the iron chelating activity with an increase in solid–liquid ratio.


翻译:从图S1,S2中可以看出,随着提升固液比,TPC和抗氧化活性是下降的。然而,图S3表明,随着固液比的增加,金属螯合能力呈上升趋势。


这是表达随着一个因素的上升,有的变量上升有的下降的情况,文中这样表达清晰明了,这一小段的表达很简单,但是意思说的很清楚,最重要的是没有很多重复,在英语表达中,重复是大忌,即使表达相同的意思,也要想办法换着用词和句型。不过,在我们描述试验趋势时,大部分内容就是随着什么上升而怎样,随着什么下降而怎样,没有什么特殊的结果形势,因此,这一小段内容是个比较好的模仿素材。让我们一起学习起来吧。
